Preserving regional innovation and employment, and carrying them forward to the next generation for a sustainable future.
Across Japan, countless small and mid-sized enterprises and skilled specialists have long served as the foundation of regional economies. Yet today, many of these businesses face challenges in sustaining their legacy due to a shortage of successors and a rapidly changing business environment.
At UMI Growth Capital, we are dedicated to partnering with these regional companies to shape a path toward enduring and responsible growth through thoughtful business succession.
Our mission goes beyond capital investment — we focus on preserving employment, nurturing human potential, and strengthening the bonds between businesses and their communities.
By doing so, we aim to carry the vitality and craftsmanship of Japan’s regions forward to the next generation, creating a future where local industry and society grow hand in hand.

Our Mission
At UMI Growth Capital, we work alongside a team of professionals with deep expertise in the materials and chemical industries, as part of the Universal Materials Incubator (UMI) Group.
Leveraging UMI’s extensive network, we strive to strengthen collaboration with domestic companies, expand distribution channels, and support a wide range of management needs — from technology development and talent acquisition to broader organizational challenges.
Our members with international business experience also bring their global expertise to help our portfolio companies expand beyond Japan with confidence and impact.
Unlike traditional investment funds, we do not pursue short-term exits after acquisition. Instead, we focus on long-term value creation, fostering sustainable growth and stability.
Through these efforts, we aim to carry forward the technologies, people, and culture that define each company, ensuring that their legacy continues — hand in hand with local communities — toward a sustainable and vibrant future.
